What items will I buy?

Scrap Gold metal

Absolutely anything made from gold is of interest to me.

  • Broken or unwanted jewellery

  • Gold coins (Sovereigns, Ducats, Krugerrands, Maples etc…)

  • Fob medals, lodge medals, awards & trophies

  • Dental gold or medical gold items

  • Alluvial flake or gold nuggets

Silver Scrap metal

Most people have some amount of silver scrap. Most often in jewellery and in coins.

  • Broken or unwanted jewellery

  • Pre-1946 New Zealand or English coins, Pre 1964 Australian coins

  • Most countries early silver coloured coins are solid silver (purity varies)

  • Pocket watch cases, flatware and large pieces of sterling silverware

Vintage watches

Pocket watches and wrist watches are of interest. Whilst I seek out rare brands and complicated watches, many old watches have metal or parts that aer usable, even if they are broken.

  • Collector watches like Rolex and Omega

  • High end watch brands. Vacheron, Patek, Cartier, Jaeger and more

  • Complicated watches. Chronograph, Moonphase etc…

  • Sports and Dive watches from Rolex, Omega, Seiko, Citizen

Coins & Banknotes

Many old coin lots contain silver coins which have value in their metal. There is also the chance of finding collectors coins which can have value far higher than their melt value!

What I’d like see:

  • Pre-1947 New Zealand Silver coins

  • Other world Silver coins (usually pre-1960’s, Country dependent)

  • NZ Banknotes

  • Very old World banknotes
